  2. Checkmate /AUTORAM SYSTEM
  3. ProDOS File Transfer Utility

  7. ICheckmate Technology has recently released /AUTORAM SYSTEM, a utility to L
  8. Jconfigure a RAM drive and transfer files to it. The files used to operate P
  9. N/AUTORAM are locked out and do not transfer to the RAM drive, as they are not 
  10. needed there.
  11. MAs delivered, /AUTORAM will load a ProDOS program selector, offer the chance P
  12. Nto change the size of the RAM drive, configure the RAM drive and go to a menu I
  13. Gwhere the user can choose to load all files from the designated drive, K
  14. catalog the source drive, the RAM drive or exit to the program selector. 
  15. LThe size of the RAM drive can be changed and saved, whenever the utility is     
  16. booted.
  17. GIf the user is comfortable working in BASIC, default conditions can be P
  18. Ncustomized and changes or additions made to the list of files that are locked 
  19. MThe AUTORAM utility is simple to use. Boot it up, press RETURN to load files L
  20. Jfrom the designated drive and press Q to exit to the program selector. It N
  21. Ltakes under 3 minutes to do the RAM configure and transfer AppleWorks, a 53 K
  22. Iblock utility file and 3 sub-directories to RAM from a 3.5" drive, on my     
  23. system.
  24. JThe COPY file program transfer speed is good, but not as fast as the file M
  25. Kcopy using Copy II+, which is about 40% faster. But COPY will transfer all J
  26. Hfiles including those in sub-directories, if they are on one disk. File M
  27. Ktransfers to sub-directories in RAM from multiple disks cannot be made, as P
  28. Nthere is no way to designate source and target with COPY and are best handled 
  29. with Copy II+.
  30. KAt a price of under $20.00, the /AUTORAM UTILITY will make life easier for N
  31. Lnon-programmers to use a RAM disk with their software. It is available from 
  32. Checkmate dealers.
